PPS -- About the Site

You would like to know about this website, would you?

Whats with the Title?

Why “My Personal Pit Stop”, you ask? Eh, because I named my fan site, so long ago, The (Insert name of character here) Pit Stop. The website isn't for a character, but it is still a layover for me. So, its My Pit Stop. Why shorten that to PPS? Because I rather think it looks cooler.

Why would you build this?

Its really not that complicated. Way back when my fan website was still on Geocities, I had it in mind that I wanted to make a sub section for just – stuff. As in, I have some art, and some fan art, and some stories that really didn't fit into the fan shrine I had built at the time. Lo-and-behold, those things still don't fit. The difference is that Geocities limited me to 15MB for all of my content – including the fan site. This host allows for considerably more.

The second point to building this site was less about displaying my work and more about creating something of an online book marker for myself. That is to say, to create something of a registry of my favorite things, links, forums, games ect.

That was the beginning of the idea. But, of course, ideas grow. I personally am working on being a web designer, its what I went to university for after all. Now as with any field, in web design you need to practice old concepts along with trying new things if you hope to get anywhere. In this case, I've discovered the perfect playground for trying new ideas – my Personal Pit Stop. This place is mine, and mine to do with as I please.

So, in truth, this website has become not only a gallery for my odds and ends creations, but a sandbox in which I can play with web building techniques as I please.

What can we expect of Updates?

Well certainly as I get more content, I'll do my best to add it in. However, if I'm going to be totally honest with you, I do oh so much better about updating layout more frequently than id do about updating content. In either case, It will likely be sporadic. But, as I said, this site has been very much created for me, if you find pleasure out of it, that's a wonderful bonus.

And the Web Techniques your practicing?

Oh, well, some of them I got the idea or the code from places around the 'Net. You want links to try them on your own? Well absolutely!
